Croydon MRI Scan Centre is accredited by all of the major insurers. In addition we welcome self-funding patients and those from the NHS with an appropriate referral. Please click here for an MRI referral form and click here for a funding authorisation form
You may wish to refer an NHS or private patient to the centre, please contact the centre for more information.
Consultants and specialists can refer both self-funding and insured patients, assuming that an insured patient has followed the referral pathway designated by their insurer.
GPs can refer patients for self-funding scans, generally insured patients should be referred to a specialist before diagnostic tests are covered. Guidelines published by the Royal College of Radiology and the Royal College of General Practitioners provide a framework for appropriate referral for diagnostic services.
Osteopaths, Physiotherapists and Chiropractors can refer patients for self-funding scans, generally insured patients should be referred to a GP. According to a recent joint publication by a collaboration of the professional bodies representing the Allied Health Professionals and the Royal College of Radiology, entitled “Clinical Imaging Requests from Non-Medically Qualified Professionals” you may refer patients providing you are adequately trained and remain competent to refer.
